Dypsis decaryi “Triangle Palm” native to the Island of Madagascar where you will find growing in dry forests – Stoney slopes up to 600 meters in elevation.

The Triangle Palm is a tall Palm that grows up to 15 meters in height that likes to grow in a well-drained soil that never stays wet for too long. The fronds are feather-like, blue-green or silver-green in colour with the leaf bases that grow on three distinct sides of the plant, forming a triangle, which gives the palm its common name.

This palm is a fantastic ornamental Palm that should be grown out in the open to show off its unique shape. Prefers a semi-shaded free draining position when young but will take full sun once established. Once thought too tropical to grow in NZ now successfully grown outside, in northern and warmer parts of NZ in stunning landscape displays! If you are looking for something a little different in your garden this is definitely THE palm with Its very neat appearance and stature making it a perfect Street Palm and used to accent residential landscapes and close to swimming pools. Indoors the Triangle Palm is long lived in a pot and can make a great Palm for a foyer, lounge or stairwells where adequate light and room.
